Asymmetrical Cardigan yarn suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find some alternatives to the yarn suggested in the book. Could y'all put on your thinking hats and send me a few suggestions? I'm a big gal and would need to knit the largest size if I use the intended gauge. However, if someone has some ideas for using slimmer yarn and can offer some assistance is working with the pattern I'd be in your debit!

Thanks,

Charity

See December 5th for an Asymmetrical Cardi knitted from Malabrigo.

I'm using Rowan Cork for the Asym Cardi, and my gauge is right on. Cork is considerably less than 100% cashmere ;~}

I too am knitting an Asymmetrical Cardi in Malabrigo. The Malabrigo knits up to a smaller gauge than specified in the pattern, so I simply knit a larger pattern size (while keeping the vertical inches measurements for my original size).

Since you'd be knitting the largest size to start with, I would look at the pattern measurements and create some larger pattern sizes, then do a gauge swatch and figure out which of the larger sizes (in the original gauge) corresponds to your size. This is a royal pita, but I didn't feel confident enough to rework a pattern size (with the wacky construction) in my smaller gauge!

Good luck!
